Lakeside Shopping Center, in partnership with Raising Cane's Chicken Fingers, will be supporting the fine arts departments of local high schools. This contest is open to all local high schools (grades 8–12).
The contest will award first, second and third place winners based on the scoresheet results from the Lakeside Judges Panel. There will be a People’s Choice Award based on votes as well. The checks will be written out to the school’s fine arts department.
1st Place wins $1,200.00
2nd Place wins $800.00
3rd Place wins $400.00
People’s choice award wins $200.00
High schools will have 4 weeks to decorate 5 pumpkins. In order for the school’s pumpkins to be entered into the contest, pumpkins will need to be delivered back to the mall by October 7, 2025.
Pumpkin Pick-up Dates:
September 2 – 5, 2025 from 8 am – 4 pm.
*Schools pickup the pumpkins from the Mall Office located on the Second Floor of the mall. Closest Mall Entrance is the P.F. Chang’s mall entrance.
Decorated Pumpkins Due: October 7, 2025 by 4 pm.
Deliver decorated pumpkins to the Mall Office & attach the drop-off form no later than 4 pm.
Voting Details: The Lakeside Judges Panel will be given scoresheets and will rate each set of pumpkins based on originality, execution, creativity, and use of props and materials. During judging, the pumpkins will be numbered and the high school names will not be displayed.
Once judging is complete, we will open voting to the general public for the People’s Choice Award and the high school names will be displayed.
In-person voting for the People’s Choice Award will take place at Center Court on:
Oct. 11 from 12pm-4pm
Oct. 19 from 2pm-6pm
Winners Announcement: The winners of the contest will be announced at Lakeside’s Mall-O-Ween event on Sunday, October 26.
All participating schools are asked to attend the event on October 26 to pass out candy to the children and represent their high school. The winners will be announced at 11:45 am on October 26 at Center Court.
